Giving Tree Goes Up on Sunday
As in years past, we will be placing gift request "ornaments" on the Christmas Giving Tree in Fellowship Hall.  This year requests will be coming from kids at Seawell Elementary School, members of the Fisher Memorial United Holy Church community, and our Karen refugee families from Burma.  Because there are several Karen families in our area that do not yet have sponsors, the children and families of our own United Church Preschool have offered to take the ornaments of children and adults that might not otherwise receive much during this Christmas season.  The kids are very excited about this and will have their own Giving Tree outside the classrooms downstairs.

When you come to Fellowship Hall to make your Advent wreath, why not also pick a gift tag off of the Giving Tree?  As you are able, take a tag or two, pick up one or more of the suggested gifts on the tag, and bring back your wrapped present, with the tag firmly fixed on top, by Sunday, December 14.  For more information, contact Hilary Crittenden at hilary@crittendens.com.
Women's Holiday Potluck - Monday, Dec. 1

December 1 (Monday) - 6 pm
Cathy Beemer will host a combined group Christmas pot luck dinner at her home on Monday night beginning at 6 pm.  This is a great way to start the holiday season!  Please bring a dish to share, and a small, fun ornament or gift to exchange.  For Cathy's address, please contact the church office at ucch@unitedchurch.org.

Coffee House - Friday, Dec. 5

Join us Friday evening, Dec. 5 from 8 to 10 pm to add some spice to your fall.  Enjoy coffee, tea, cocoa and baked goods while listening to our very own Iglesia's Latin Fusion band  "Canela" (Spanish for "cinnamon").   For more info., contact Christine Thetford at catalinacarolina@yahoo.com.

Hanging of the Greens

Join us in decorating the church for the holidays, Saturday, Dec. 6 - 9 am to noon.

Come help clean the church and prepare for Christmas. Every board has tasks that need to be completed.

Inside, we will hang greenery in the sanctuary, narthex and fellowship hall to make our church home festive.  Greenery needed: magnolia, boxwood, cedar, holly.

Outside, we particularly want to spend time "limbing up" some of the trees surrounding the church to give us deeper vistas, trimming back the grounds that border the parking lot and greet us as we come to worship.  Please bring your trimmers, clippers, saws, etc.
