455th Air Expeditionary Wing
The 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, headquartered at Bagram Air Field, is comprised of about 4,000 Airmen, based throughout Afghanistan combating terrorism and helping build a better future for Afghans. The wing consists of six primary groups - the Expeditionary Operations Group, Expeditionary Mission Support Group, Expeditionary Maintenance Group, Expeditionary Medical Group, 755th Air Expeditionary Group and 451st Air Expeditionary Group based out of Kandahar. The wing's primary mission is to support the Global War on Terror by providing aerial support for U.S. and Coalition forces on the ground in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Pilot surpasses 3,000 hours in A-10 Thunderbolt
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- The list of single-seat fighter pilots who have flown 3,000 hours in one particular aircraft is short. On Nov. 21, a new name was added to that list when Lt. Col. David Dressel, flew his 3,000th hour in an A-10 Thunderbolt II while flying a close air support mission over Afghanistan.

House Armed Services Committee delegation visits Camp Eggers

Air Force mentors help build ANA medical capability
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- With the help of U.S. Forces, the Afghan National Army opened a new hospital at Camp Hero in Kandahar Province, nearly one year ago. A small group of Airmen have helped transform a once empty building into a fully functional hospital staffed by ANA personnel and capable of caring for fellow ANA soldiers, Afghan National Police members, and their families.
